Interest in the energy community is growing, as evidenced by the participation of 70 representatives of cities and municipalities in a webinar organized by SEVEn, The Energy Efficiency Center within the international project BEACON.
The webinar focused on current examples from practice. Martin Bursík from the Chamber of Renewable Energy Sources shared his experience. He introduced the general principles of the functioning of energy communities and spoke about the newly established energy community in Prague. Jiří Krist from the Opava Regional Action Group shared practical experience from smaller towns and villages. The second part of the webinar with an interactive questionnaire was led by Michaela Valentová from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague. A panel discussion in response to the participants' questions followed.
The webinar also had an international dimension, as the results of two European projects so far were presented. The CONGREGATE project is focused on sharing international experience and preparing pilot projects in three Czech cities. The PED-ID project, which was presented in a short video, focuses on the preparation, development and implementation of Positive Energy Districts in selected cities.
